Coaches have been nominated for the 1st Paterno Award to honor the spirit of Joe Paterno’s persona, an award based on success on the football field in the classroom and in the community.
Joe Paterno got his 400th win this week on Nov. 6, on the day football was originated when Rutgers beat Princeton 6-4 back in 1869.
Ironically coach Paterno is not eligible for the award something I think the Maxwell Football Club may want to reconsider.
Big time playmakers are known to make plays from the first blow of the whistle till the blast of the pistol capping the end of a game.
Michael Hodges LB, of Texas A&M exemplifies the high motor needed to dominate, blasting off 19 tackles and two sacks sparking a 33-19 win over Oklahoma.
A football player for Troy has been electrifying all season. Jerrel Jernigan is a big time playmaker becoming the all-purpose yards leader in the Sun Belt Conference this past weekend. Jernigan’s 258 total yards set the new mark. His 55-yard burst, 18 yards passing, 66 yards on kick returns and 57 yards receiving give him the edge. Jernigan is a playmaker balling out of control for Troy.
Another big time playmaker flying under the radar is Damaris Johnson of Tulsa. Johnson’s ability to separate himself from the defender is his mantra busting for 322 all-purpose yards. Returning a kick 94 yards for a touchdown Johnson is a baller. Catching eight passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns, Damaris Johnson is a big time playmaker.
TCU manhandled Utah 47-7 advancing to 10-0. TCU QB, Andy Dalton launched off 355 yards passing for a career high in the win. Outscoring opponents 236-23 and going 10-0 for the second straight season. Dalton is the nation’s winningest active quarterback with 39 career wins.
LSU knocked off Alabama 24-21 in Baton Rouge for the big time win.
The top QB in this week ten of college football is Kellen Moore of Boise State. Moore is simply a beast cool, calm and collected, leading the nation in passing efficiency at 192.38 like it’s no problem.
Denard Robinson of Michigan is still making plays leading the nation in rushing for a QB with 1,349 yards. Robinson is on pace to break the 15-year-old record set by Air Force’s Beau Morgan needing 145 yards to go with three games left.
Oklahoma State WR, Justin Blackmon is simply a baller topping all wide-outs in receiving yards with 1,285 yards.
Boston College linebacker Luke Keuchly is the nations tackles leader and Da’Quan Bowers leads college football in sacks.
Chris Owusu of Stanford hauled in 163 yards passing and two touchdowns on nine catches.
A football player down at Florida International scored four times in three different styles amassing 290 total yards. T.Y. Hilton scored two touchdowns with 98 yards receiving. He returned a kick 95 yards for the touchdown and rushed for a TD. Hilton also knocked down one tackle. Can you say baller?
             BIG TIME GAMES
